APC from 1993 to now

1993

APC (American Pediatric Consultants) is licensed as a home health agency by the Department of Health and as a pharmacy Board of Pharmacy.

1997

APC is accredited by The Joint Commission of Health Care Organizations.

1998

APC forms a group purchasing organization (GPO) for medical supplies, and vaccines for physicians and medical clinics

2000

APC initiates a cooperative patient management program with a major insurer and a case management organization.

2001

APC is accredited by the oldest accreditation organization, CHAP.

2005

APC  Develops HealthSmartVaccines, an immunization and travel health clinic.

2006

APC-HSV initiates the “Work Place” flu clinic program for area employers

2018

APC begins the development of a broad range of home care alternative services for all age groups and most needs including non-nursing services for companions through Companion Care at Home

 

OUR HISTORY

The Agency formed as a Virginia corporation in 1992 and began servicing patients in 1993. Initially the Agency exclusively provided “Hi-Tech” home care services to the newborn and pediatric population including skilled intermittent home visits, home medical equipment, skilled private duty nursing and intravenous infusion management.

OUR CREDENTIALS

APC was accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care (JACHO) Organizations in 1997 and currently by the Community  Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).  APC is also licensed as a wholesale pharmacy.

CHAP- OUR ACCREDITING AGENCY

The Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) is a national, independent, accrediting body for community-based health care organizations. CHAP is the oldest national, community-based accrediting body with more than 9,000 agencies currently accredited nationwide.

OUR FOUNDERS AND MANAGERS

Founded by a leading Virginia pediatrician and an experienced medical business executive, APC utilized an advisory board of area medical professionals to develop a suite of home care services focused the patient’s and family’s home care needs. No other Virginia home care provider offers our mix of services and specialized nursing care.

MANAGMENT

Richard Miles- President

Mr. Miles has over 30 years of experience in home care experience including home infusion pharmacy, medical fragile day care for special needs children, high risk pregnancy managment and perinatal services, acute and chronic home care, including private duty homecare services.

Russell Libby, MD – Medical Director

Dr. Libby is the founder and current partner in one of Virginia’s largest pediatric practices with four offices and nearly 20 providers. He has over 20 years of experience in home care and is a member of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Jennifer Morgan, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, RNC

Ms. Morgan is a nurse practitioner in family medicine and has over 10 years of nursing experience including eight years as a neonatal intensive care nurse.
